The 30th British Colloquium for Theoretical Computer Science will be
hosted by the Foundations of Computing Group, Department of?
Computer Science, Middlesex University, from 14th to 18th September,
2015.

Associated with the meeting, on Thursday 17th September, the London
Mathematical Society (LMS) Algorithms & Cryptography Day. The LMS
will celebrate its 150th anniversary as BCTCS celebrates its 30th with
its first visit to the capital.

The purpose of BCTCS is to provide a forum in which researchers in
theoretical computer science can meet, present research findings, and
discuss developments in the field. It also aims to provide an
environment in which PhD students can gain experience in presenting
their work, and benefit from contact with established researchers.

The scope of the colloquium includes all aspects of theoretical
computer science, including automata theory, algorithms, complexity
theory, semantics, formal methods, concurrency, types, languages and
logics. Both computer scientists and mathematicians are welcome to
attend, as are participants from outside of the UK.

The colloquium features both invited and contributed talks.? This year
the invited speakers currently include the following (with one or two
more to be added).
? ?
? ?Per Martin-Lof, Stockholm University, Sweden.
? ?Timothy Gowers, Cambridge University (tbc).
? ?Tony Hoare, Microsoft Research.
? ?Thomas Hales, University of Pittsburgh, USA, (LMS Keynote).
? ?Joseph Sifakis, University of Grenoble, France.

The LMS meeting on Thursday also has eminent speakers.

? ?Mike Paterson, University of Warwick.
? ?Lance Fortnow, Georgia Tech, USA.
? ?Jon Kleinberg, Cornell University, USA.
? ?Nigel Smart, University of Bristol.
? ?Shafi Goldwasser, MIT, USA.
? ?Adi Shamir, Weizmann Institute, Israel (tbc).?
? ?
We are grateful for support from the Heilbronn Institute for?
Mathematical Research which will provide bursaries for 18 students to
cover registration fees and accommodation. Please register initial
interest for these with barnabymartin@gmail.com

Barnaby Martin, Raja Nagarajan and Giuseppe Primiero.

*ORAHS 2015, 41th ORAHS Conference*
*July 19-24 2015*
*Montr?al, Canada*

We would like to announce the ORAHS 2015 Conference, the 41th annual
meeting of the EURO Working Group on Operational Research Applied to Health
Services. The conference will take place at HEC Montr?al, in Montr?al
(Qu?bec, Canada).

The conference theme is ?Networking Health: Facing the Challenges in
Healthcare Management?. Over recent years, health services in most
countries have been confronted with rising demands while having to face
more and more restrictive budgetary conditions. In addition, health
services are now increasingly conceived as networks where different
entities must be managed and coordinated. This constantly evolving
environment raises complex challenges with respect to organization,
resource and personnel planning and management, efficiency and performance
measures and improvements. This conference will provide an ideal forum to
present and discuss ways to attain these objectives. In addition, this
year?s ORAHSconference will take place across the Atlantic, in Montr?al
(Canada), thus providing the added opportunity to compare and exchange
European and Canadian\North American perspectives on these challenges and
the ways to deal with them.

The conference will consist of parallel sessions for invited and
contributed talks as well as a poster session. Plenary talks will be given
by researchers from the OR community and by healthcare practitioners.

As is tradition with ORAHS meetings, a series of social activities will be
organized around the strong scientific program. This social program
includes a one-day tour and a boat trip on the Saint-Laurence River from
where participants will be able to enjoy the beauty of Montreal from a
different perspective.

All researchers interested in healthcare applications are invited to
participate in this conference and to submit a presentation. For abstract
submission and registration please refer to the conference webpage:

Paper submission deadline: 22 June 2015, 23:59 AoE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The International Workshop on Algorithmic Aspects of Cloud Computing (ALGOCLOUD 2015)
is an annual event co-located with ALGO 2015 (http://algo2015.upatras.gr/)
aiming to tackle the diverse new topics in the emerging area of algorithmic aspects
of computing and data management in the Cloud. The increasing adoption of cloud computing
introduces a variety of parallel and distributed algorithmic models and architectures.
To leverage elastic cloud resources, scalability has to be a fundamental architectural
design trait of new cloud databases. This challenge is manifested in new data models
("NoSQL"), replication, caching and partitioning schemes, relaxed consistency and
transaction guarantees as well as new protocols, APIs, indexing and storage services.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners in cloud
computing algorithms, service design and data architectures to exchange ideas and
contribute to the development of this exciting and emerging new field.

ALGOCLOUD welcomes submission of theoretical, experimental, methodological as well as
application papers. Demonstration papers and high quality survey papers are also welcome.
As such, contributions may span a wide range of Algorithms for modeling, constructing and
evaluating operations and services in a variety of systems, including (but not limited to)
virtualized Infrastructures, Cloud Platforms, Datacenters, Mobile ad-hoc networks,
Peer-to-Peer and Grid Systems, HPC architectures, etc.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOPICS

Topics of interest addressed by this workshop include, but are not limited to:

- Algorithmic Aspects of Elasticity and Scalability for distributed, large-scale
data stores (e.g., NoSQL and columnar databases)
- Search and Retrieval Algorithms for cloud infrastructures
- Monitoring and analysis of elasticity for virtualized environments
- NoSQL, Schemaless Data Modeling, Integration
- Caching and Load-Balancing
- Storage Structures and Indexing for Cloud Databases
- New Algorithmic Aspects of Parallel and Distributed Computing for Cloud Applications
- Scalable Machine Learning, Analytics and Data Science
