of the authors attends the conference to give the presentation.

Submitted papers must be in English presenting original
research. They must be unpublished and not submitted for publication
elsewhere. In particular, simultaneous submission of the same
contribution to multiple ETAPS conferences is forbidden. The
proceedings will be published in the Advanced Research in Computing
and Software Science (ARCoSS) subline of Springer's Lecture Notes in
Computer Science series.

Papers must follow the formatting guidelines specified by Springer at

Submissions should consist of two parts:

* The first part, at most 4 pages, should describe the tool
presented. Please include the URL of the tool (if available) and
provide information that illustrates the maturity and robustness of
the tool. (This part will be included in the proceedings.)

* The second part, at most 6 pages, should explain how the
demonstration will be carried out and what it will show, including
screen dumps and examples. (This part will be not be included in the
proceedings, but will be evaluated.)

ESOP and FOSSACS do not accept tool demonstration papers.

TACAS has a page limit of 6 pages for tool demonstrations.

==============================================================================

NUMA 2014 - THE award for pervasive, ubiquitous, ambient technologies, media, services, user experience,
concepts, and applications. We refurbished the competition for 2014 after having received over 220
competition entries over the past seven years. We want to integrate all the latest trends in the world
of smart media, as we want to see incredible re-interpretations of the original notion of ubimedia,
pervasive media, and ambient media. Any new fresh idea is welcome in this area! The vision of ubimedia
today spreads in smart city concepts, smart cards, and smart phones - and starts to become mainstream -
there are still many more exciting, seamless, and unobtrusive experiences that need to be discovered.
We still seek for cutting edge tech innovations, and look for makers that single-handedly engineer
fascinating new ubimedia services and devices on a shoestring budget. We welcome all ubimedia masterminds,

In the context of eMedia and creative industry: information systems, information management, knowledge management,
decision management, workflow management, electronic media, IT systems, human factors of IT systems, management
technology, digital services, big data, open data, linked data

According to Gartner published in Techcrunch, communications media and services are the 3rd largest IT systems spenders with
a yearly growth rate of 4.4% with a share of approx. $4 billion in 2011, after banking & securities and manufacturing &
natural resources [1]. For example, the TV industry was faced with tremendous change in technologies during the past decade,
such as the digital switchover, the introduction of HDTV, or the provision of 3D content. Large scale asset repositories
and different workflows in the content production process had to be introduced. Other media industries faced similar
challenges, as the emergence of digital publishing, digital content distribution, or advancement of in-house customer
relationship management infrastructures, and the digitalization of workflows.

This change towards digital implies a more holistic view of information systems and management in media industries to provide
optimal system solutions, and eventually cut costs. Where other industries are well researched in terms of their IT system
solutions, in media industries the discussion around content repositories, media management solutions, and digital workflows
seems to be predominant. Within the context of this publication, a more holistic view towards information systems and
management in media industries shall be introduced, and emphasize the importance of research of business information
management and systems in media industries.

The media and entertainment industry is the third largest industry segment for investments in information systems. And this
particular industry segment is faced with tremendous challenges in terms of organizational, transformational, leadership,
customer behaviour, and technological changes. One particular challenge is the transformation of the analogue media world
into its digital counterpart. As of today, the successive research of business information management and systems focusing on
media and entertainment industries is rather fragmented and stretches over a wide area of research islands such as social
media, eCommerce, or eBusiness.

To face this challenge, this book focuses on information management and systems for media and entertainment industries and
highlighting their particular needs in production, distribution, and consumption. The book shall gather a scientific community
around the theme of business information management and systems in the larger context of media and entertainment
industries.

Special Focus on the Notion NEW approaches of Content and Media in Information Systems & Management Applications in
Particular in Application Areas as: Big Data, Crowd, Open Data, Linked Data, Cloud Application, New Business Analytics,
Information Visualization, Workflow Management, and Global Digital Production Pipelines.

Dear colleagues,

The OR Society of Hungary is pleased to announce a EURO Summer Institute
(ESI) on Online Optimization. The ESI will take place at University of
Szeged, from 15th to 27th June in 2015, the homepage of the event can be
found at http://www.eswi.u-szeged.hu

EURO Summer and Winter Institutes (ESWI) provide an excellent forum for
PhD students and early career researchers to discuss their research at
length with experts in the field, as well as forming links with other
early stage researchers. For further details, see
http://www.euro-online.org/web/pages/458/summerwinter-institutes.

Around twenty early stage researchers from the EURO member societies will
be invited to participate at the ESWI. They must be very early career
academics (PhD students and/or those who have less than two years
research experience post PhD). They have to present the material of an
unpublished piece of work, discussing it with others and with the invited
senior experts in the field. The ESI will also present a series of
lectures by the invited senior experts. After the ESI, the papers can be
submitted to a special issue of an OR publication (TBA).

Apart from the senior experts, no one can participate in an ESWI more than
once in their lifetime. EURO provides a substantial contribution towards
all the ESWI expenses ?on location? (room and board, social programs,
etc.) and sponsorship is being sought to meet the remaining part of these
expenses. The travel costs, however, must be borne by the participants
themselves, eventually with the support of their national OR societies.
Applicants have to submit an unpublished paper to the Scientific
Committee, along with a curriculum vitae. The Committee will select and
rank the candidates on the basis of submitted papers, and afterwards
channel this information to the national OR societies for funding decisions.

Candidates who fulfill the eligibility rules but exceed the quota of 20
participants might be accepted, in a limited number. These candidates
should cover their own expenses. Fees will be also required, but their
amount will be specified later.

Interested candidates are asked to notify us in advance in order to help
us assess the likely number of participants. Please send an email to
esi15@inf.u-szeged.hu if you are planning to submit a paper.

Important dates
15th October 2014 deadline for interested candidates to notify us
31st January 2015 deadline for submission of applications
15th March 2015 selection of Candidates by the Scientific Committee and
communication to the National OR Societies
15th June- 27th June 2015 ESWI at the University of Szeged
30th September 2015 submission of final versions of papers for publication
in the special issue

The Scientific Committee which is the same as the list of the planned
senior speakers is the following

? Joan Boyar (University of Southern Denmark)
? Leah Epstein (University of Haifa, Israel)
? S?ndor Fekete (TU Braunschweig, Germany)

CALL FOR PAPERS

================================================================
AAAI-15 Workshop on Planning, Search, and Optimization: PlanSOpt

Austin, Texas, 25-26 January 2015

http://org.nicta.com.au/plansopt-15

Submission deadline: October 14, 2014

================================================================

Mainstream AI planning and heuristic search have traditionally been
concerned with finding paths through a state transition system. The
objective is typically to find either a feasible solution or an
optimal solution to a fairly restricted objective function (e.g.,
minimize plan length or the sum of the costs of actions in a plan).

While there have been pioneering efforts at using optimization for
planning (notably in compilation approaches to mixed integer
programming and constraint programming), there has been significant
renewed interest in a number of areas, including:

- formulating heuristic generation and selection as an optimization
problem

- linear programming as a basis for search heuristics in classical
planning

- hybridization of optimization approaches (e.g,. linear, mixed
integer linear, constraint, and non-linear programming) and
planning to solve more expressive problems involving time,
resources, and complex systems (e.g., the electricity grid)

- adaptation of optimization methods to design planning and search
algorithms that continually improve plan quality as time permits

The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers in AI
planning, search, and optimization to investigate both problems and
solution approaches. We encourage applications of optimization
technology to planning/search problems, applications of traditional
planning/search technology (e.g., variations of A* search) to
optimization problems, and hybrid approaches that combine planning and
optimization.

SUGGESTED TOPICS

- Planning with time and/or resources
- Planning over complex systems
- Optimization over complex systems
- Optimization-based search heuristics
- Optimization techniques for planning and search (e.g. local search)
- Decomposition approaches for planning and search (e.g. column
generation, Benders Decomposition/Planning Modulo Theory)
- Anytime plan quality optimization
- AI-style search for optimization problems and solvers
- Reasoning about complex objective functions (e.g. requiring
multi-objective, bi-level, robust, or adversarial optimization or
search)
- Understanding, comparing, and combining the modelling approaches
from AI and optimization
- Hybrid and cross-over applications
- Comparing planning/search and optimization approaches on problems to
which both are applicable
- Search algorithms for graphical models, in particular weighted
counting and constraint satisfaction queries
- Exploitation of symmetries in search, in particular comparison of
such approaches in CP, MIP, and counting queries

WORKSHOP FORMAT

The workshop will include invited talks, presentations of accepted
contributions, and discussion. It will also feature tutorials about
planning and search for optimization researchers and about optimization
for planning and search researchers. It is expected that attendees
will have open minds and will engage in discussions in the spirit of
developing a mutual understanding of both problems and solution
approaches of interest to all backgrounds.

SUBMISSIONS

Papers should be accessible to researchers from AI planning, search,
and optimization. Work that only focuses on AI planning or search
without an aspect of optimization are not suitable. Conversely,
however, as our goal is to attract researchers from optimization, work
that is focused on optimization but that introduces problems or uses
techniques that the authors believe are of interest to the AI planning
and search communities are expressly encouraged.

Two paper formats are solicited:
- full-length papers (up to 8 pages in AAAI format)
- challenge or position papers (2 pages in AAAI format).

Papers should be submitted in PDF to EasyChair. All papers will be peer
reviewed.

The Algorithms and Complexity group of LIAFA (CNRS and University Paris
Diderot), Paris, France, is seeking excellent candidates for one or more
postdoctoral positions in classical and quantum computing. Topics of
interest include (but are not limited to): algorithms, streaming algorithms,
approximation algorithms, online algorithms, communication
complexity, cryptography, computational game theory, quantum computing,
computational applications of logic, randomness in computing, privacy.

LIAFA is a joint laboratory of the CNRS (the French National Center
for Scientific Research) and University Paris Diderot - Paris 7.
For more information about LIAFA, please see
http://www.liafa.univ-paris-diderot.fr ,
and for more information about the Algorithms and Complexity group
please see http://www.liafa.univ-paris-diderot.fr/algocomp .
Further information may be obtained from any of the permanent
members of the group.

The starting date of the position(s) will usually be in September 2015
but can be negotiated.
To apply please send a CV, a summary of research and names of at
least three references to algocomp-apply@liafa.univ-paris-diderot.fr.

Applications should be received by December 1st, 2014.
Those wishing to join the group as postdoctoral fellows, and especially
those working in classical (i.e. non-quantum) computation areas,
should consider to also apply for a postdoctoral fellowship from the FSMP
( http://www.sciencesmaths-paris.fr/en/postdoctoral-programmes-247.htm )
in which case they should contact the algorithms and complexity group
at least two weeks before the deadline for that application (which
is usually around December 1st as well.)
