Joint Postdoc position available at Ben-Gurion University (Israel) and TU
Berlin (Germany)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with interests in
algorithms, networking, and/or distributed systems to join a GIF
(German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development) project
on "dynamic and self-adjusting distributed systems".

Applicants are required to demonstrate strong background and understanding
in at least one of the topics above. The postdoc is expected to perform
independent research, collaborate with team members, and supervise PhD and
MSc students as appropriate.

The project is led by Dr. Chen Avin (Ben-Gurion University) and Prof. Dr.
Stefan Schmid (TU Berlin & Aalborg University). The postdoc will mainly be
based in Israel but will also spend time in Berlin, e.g., 3 months in
Summer 2016 (within the group of Prof. Dr. Anja Feldmann). The salary will
be as usual for a Postdoc in the corresponding country.

For an idea of the research conducted within the GIF project, you may have
a look at:

· SplayNet: Towards Locally Self-Adjusting Networks
http://net.t-labs.tu-berlin.de/~stefan/ton15splay.pdf

· Our recent work on online algorithms for self adjusting networks :
http://net.t-labs.tu-berlin.de/~stefan/repartition.pdf

The application should include the following items:

· CV (including names and contact details of at least 2 references)

· List of publications

· Research abstract

It should be sent (in PDF) to avin@cse.bgu.ac.il and schmiste@gmail.com.

The position is open immediately and will remain open until filled. The
duration is one year with possible extension for one more year.
