ROUTE is a biennial series of international workshops and provides a
high quality forum for recent developments, trends and advances in the
theory, practice and application of mathematical models and optimization
methodologies in the field of Transportation with a special focus on
Routing. This year's ROUTE was held in Rambouillet , France from June 1
to 4 2016 and brought together around 30 academics, researchers, and
practitioners from more than 10 countries.

In connection with the activities of ROUTE 2016, this special issue on
"Vehicle Routing" invites both theoretical and methodological
contributions towards the design and development of innovative solution
approaches (exact, heuristic, and matheuristic approaches) to address
challenging logistic problems with a particular focus, but not
exclusively, on vehicle routing problems (new models and problem
formulations).

Submissions are open to all, not only to ROUTE 2016 participants.

All contributions will be peer reviewed according to the usual standards
of the journal. Please submit your manuscript at wolfler@lipn.fr.

For further information on the special issue, please contact the Guest
Editors, Roberto Wolfler Calvo (wolfler@lipn.fr), Roberto Baldacci
(r.baldacci@unibo.it) and Lucas Létocart (letocart@lipn.fr).

Applications are invited for fully-funded Ph.D. positions in the Department
of Computer Science at the City University of New York (CUNY). The selected
candidate(s) will collaborate with Prof. Mayank Goswami (
http://eniac.cs.qc.cuny.edu/mgoswami/) on algorithms for big data, with an
emphasis on algorithms with theoretical and approximation guarantees for
problems arising in databases, social networks, computational geometry, and
machine learning. Candidates who like algorithmic problem solving and have
theoretical computer science/mathematical backgrounds are strongly
encouraged to apply.

Most of the research will be conducted at the CUNY graduate center (
http://www.gc.cuny.edu/Page-Elements/Academics-Research-
Centers-Initiatives/Doctoral-Programs/Computer-Science
) in Manhattan, New
York. The position pays for a modest but sufficient (by NYC standards)
stipend. Throughout your tenure, you will conduct original research that
will be published in highly ranked computer science conferences and
journals. The objective is to 1) spend four to five years solving cool
algorithmic problems in one of the leading hubs for high-tech , and 2) to
prepare you for a career in either industry or academia at the completion
of your dissertation.

Interested candidates should email Prof. Mayank Goswami at
mayank.isi@gmail.com with a summary of their backgrounds and interests.
Applications will be received through the graduate center website, at
http://www.gc.cuny.edu/Prospective-Current-Students/Prospective-Students/
