CALL FOR NOMINATIONS:

The EATCS-IPEC Nerode Prize 2016 for outstanding papers in the area of
multivariate algorithmics.

Deadline for Nominations: February 15, 2016.

Decision: May 1, 2016.

The award is presented annually with the presentation taking place at
IPEC (International Symposium on Parameterized and Exact Computation).
IPEC 2016 takes place within ALGO 2016, August 22-26, 2016, Aarhus,
Denmark.

Award Committee
The winning paper(s) is selected by a committee of three members. This
year's committee consists of the following three people.

David Eppstein (University of California, Irvine)
Daniel Marx (Hungarian Academy of Sciences)
Jan Arne Telle (University of Bergen, Norway. Chair)

The Award Committee is solely responsible for the selection of the
winner of the award which may be shared by more than one paper or series of
papers. The Award Committee reserves the right to declare no winner at all.

Eligibility
Any research paper or series of research papers by a single author or by
a team of authors published in a recognized refereed journal. The year of
publication should be at least two years and at most ten years before
the year of the award nomination. The research work nominated for the award
should be in the area of multivariate algorithms and complexity meant in
a broad sense, and encompasses, but is not restricted to, those areas
covered
by IPEC. The Award Committee has the ultimate authority to decide on the
eligibility of a nomination. Papers authored by a member of the Award
Committee are not eligible for nomination.

Nominations
Nominations may be made by any member of the scientific community
including the members of the Award Committee. A nomination should
contain a brief summary of the technical content of each nominated paper
and a brief explanation of its significance. Nominations are done by an
email to the Award Committee Chair with copies to the members of the
committee. The Subject line of the nomination E-mail should contain the
group of words "Nerode Prize Nomination"

Open Faculty Positions (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) in the
Department of Industrial Engineering, Koc University, Turkey

The Department of Industrial Engineering at Koc University invites
applications and nominations for full-time faculty positions to start in
Fall 2016.

We seek outstanding candidates in all areas of industrial engineering,
preferably with a strong background in operations research. The candidates
are expected to complement and enhance the current research and education
portfolio of the department and preferably have interests in one or more of
the following application areas: data analytics, energy, financial
engineering, healthcare, production systems, supply chain and logistics,
and sustainable operations. Individuals at all ranks are encouraged to
apply (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor).

Applicants must have a PhD in industrial engineering, operations research,
management sciences, or a related field, and must demonstrate a strong
commitment to high-quality research and teaching excellence. Candidates
will be expected to develop and to maintain an externally funded research
program; to teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels; to
attract and to supervise doctoral students; to contribute to departmental
and university administration; and to support outreach activities.
Candidates for Associate or Full Professor should have a commensurate
record of research publications and are expected to provide organizational
and research leadership, and to build relationships with industry.

Koc University is a private, nonprofit institution located on a new,
state-of-the-art campus in Rumelifeneri, Istanbul. The University is
supported by the Vehbi Koc Foundation, and is committed to the pursuit of
