The 10th International Heinz Nixdorf Symposium is aimed at researchers who conduct Computer Science and/or Economics research on topics of the SFB 901 "On-The-Fly Computing" (http://sfb901.uni-paderborn.de) in a broad sense, and is devoted to the scientific exchange. It will take place in the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (http://www.hnf.de/en/home.html) in Paderborn, Germany. The event format is a mixture of keynote talks and workshops with invited talks in the following four research fields:

* Dynamic Communication Networks
* Security and Cryptography
* Quality Assurance and Economic Design

Call for Papers Special Issue of RAIRO-Operations Research :
Operations Research Applications in Industry
We invite submissions of articles for a forthcoming issue of RAIRO-Operations Research on Operations Research Applications in Industry. This special issue will be dedicated, both, to the 117th European Study Group with Industry, that has been held in Avignon, France, May 23- 27, 2016, and to the Industrial Days organized each year by GDR RO (CNRS). However , it is also open to papers which have not been presented in any of these two events .
High quality papers, dealing with any real-world industrial issues and using intensively Operations Research Approaches, are solicited. Applications of interests may include, but are not limited to :

Airline Industry : routing and flight plans, crew scheduling, revenue management, etc.

Telecommunications : network routing, queue control, etc.;

Manufacturing Industry : inventory control, production scheduling, capacity planning, etc.

Universität Hamburg invites applications for a Research Associate in accordance with Section 28 subsection 1 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (Hamburgisches Hochschulgesetz, HmbHG). The position commences on November 1, 2016.
It is remunerated at the salary level TV-L 13 and calls for 100% or 50% of standard work hours per week.
The fixed-term nature of this contract is based upon Section 2 of the Academic Fixed-Term Labor Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG). The initial fixed term is three years.
The University aims to increase the number of women in research and teaching and explicitly encourages qualified women to apply. Equally qualified female applicants will receive preference in accordance with the Hamburg Equality Act (Hamburgisches Gleichstellungsgesetz, HmbGleiG).
Responsibilities:
Associates will be expected primarily to conduct and teach research. The associate will have the opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications, in particular a doctoral dissertation. At least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the associate's own academic work.
Specific Duties:
The applicant will perform independent research in theoretical computer science, especially the analysis of algorithms. The applicant will work in the lab of Petra Berenbrink. The applicant will teach 4 or 2 hours per week.
Requirements:
A university degree in a relevant field. The applicant should have a MSc degree in mathematics or computer science.
Severely disabled applicants will receive preference over equally qualified non-disabled applicants.
