Dear all,
I would like to remind you of the "*Workshop on Random Processes in
Discrete Structures*", which I am organizing at Warwick together with
Alexandre Stauffer (Bath).
The workshop is about recent advances on random processes on graphs and
other discrete structures, including percolation, voter model, contact
processes and random graphs, and will take place at the *University
of Warwick *from *Tuesday 30th of August *until *Friday 2nd of September
2016*.
More information (including the list of speakers, details about the
accommodation, and a description of how to reach Warwick campus) can be
found on the official website
http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/statistics/crism/workshops/randomprocesses
.
Registration is FREE but COMPULSORY (mainly for catering purposes).
If you would like to register to this event, please send an email to
E.Candellero@warwick.ac.uk including the subject "Workshop on Random
Processes in Discrete Structures" by **Tuesday 9th of August**.
I'm looking forward to seeing many of you there!
Best regards,
Elisabetta Candellero

Dear colleagues,
The 43rd International Conference on Current Trends in Theory and Practice
of Computer Science (SOFSEM 2017, see http://www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/~george/lm/lm.php?tk=ZG1hbmV0CQkJZG1hbmV0QHpwci51bmkta29lbG4uZGUJNDNyZCBJbnRlcm5hdGlvbmFsIENvbmZlcmVuY2Ugb24gQ3VycmVudCBUcmVuZHMgaW4gVGhlb3J5IGFuZCBQcmFjdGljZSBvZiBDb21wdXRlciBTY2llbmNlIChTT0ZTRU0gMjAxNykJNTgJTGlzdHMJMjQ3CWNsaWNrCXllcwlubw==&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sofsem.cz%2Fsofsem17%2F%29 will
take place at Lero in Limerick January 16-20, 2017.
SOFSEM (SOFtware SEMinar) is the annual international winter conference
devoted to the theory and practice of computer science. SOFSEM aims to
present the latest results and developments in research in academia and
industry, in leading areas of computer science.
DEADLINE EXTENSION
Due to the many requests for a deadline extension, we have postponed the
deadlines as follows:
Abstract and paper deadline: August 10th, 2016
Kindly submit your abstract as early as possible in order to enable
the bidding process. You will be able to update your submission
until the deadline.
PROCEEDINGS
The SOFSEM 2017 proceedings containing all invited and contributed papers
will be published in the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science by
Springer Verlag, in the prestigious subline ARCOSS: Advanced Research in
Computing and Software Science.
STUDENT RESEARCH FORUM
The SOFSEM 2017 Student Research Forum (SRF) will provide young researchers
with valuable scientific feedback and networking. Master and PhD students
are invited to present their research ideas and projects, discuss them with
the scientific community, and establish collaborations in their field of
research.
See you at SOFSEM 2017!

*ALEA Network - Young Researchers Workshop 2016*
September 6-9, 2016 - Technische Universität Wien (Austria)
This year edition of Alea Young will take place in Vienna next
September. The aim of this workshop is to gather young European
researchers (PhD students, Postdocs, etc.) around the thematics of the
ALEA Network <http://aleanetwork.net/>(Analysis of algorithms,
Combinatorics, Random discrete structures, Probabilities...).
The program includes 3 mini-courses:
--- *Reinforced branching processes *
by Cécile Mailler (Université de Bath, Royaume-Uni)
--- *Graph enumeration*
by Élie de Panafieu (Bell Labs, France)
--- *Computer Algebra*
by Rika Yatchak (JKU, Austria)
and contributed talks (25 min). Moreover we will have dedicated sessions
for working on open problems brought by the participants, in order to
encourage interactions between researchers from different countries.
The registration is opened *until August 31st*.
http://dmg.tuwien.ac.at/AleaYoung16/index.php
If you wish to give a short talk on a topic fitting in the ALEA
thematics, you just need to mention it when you register. All
contributions are welcome!
Organizers:Gwendal Collet and Michael Wallner.
