Message-ID: <53EA2B94.9030903@zib.de>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed
Dear SCIP users,
We are happy to announce that following the workshop in Darmstadt 2012,
there will be a similar SCIP workshop this year from
September 30 to October 2, 2014.
The workshop aims at providing a forum for current and prospective SCIP
users to discuss their applications and share their experiences with
SCIP. It is free of charge and will take place at Zuse Institute Berlin,
Takustr. 7, Berlin, see
http://www.zib.de/en/institute/besucher/maps-directions.html.
The first day of the workshop will be dedicated to a hands-on
introduction into the SCIP Optimization Suite, followed by two days of
scientific talks, including a plenary talk by
Andrea Lodi from the University of Bologna,
seehttp://www.or.deis.unibo.it/lodi.html,
on October 2 and talks by developers of the SCIP Optimization Suite
about their research.
However, the focus of these two days is on your applications and
experiences with SCIP. Therefore, we invite you to participate and to
give an approximately 30-minute talk on your research. The idea is that
you present the mathematical background of what you do with SCIP and
give some details on how you use SCIP. There will also be time to
discuss problems or issues that you are having with SCIP.
While we recommend for participants to attend the complete workshop, it
is possible to attend only the introduction day or the final two days
of scientific talks.
For more details about the SCIP workshop see
http://scip.zib.de/workshop
where we will also post more information as soon as available.
If you want to attend the workshop, please write to
scipworkshop2014@zib.de
by August 25, 2014 and answer the following questions:
1) do you join the SCIP introduction?
2) will you attend the two days of scientific talks?
3) do you plan to give a talk?
We hope to see you in Berlin!
The SCIP team

consisting of the main conference and several satellite events. The
conference was attended by close to hundred scientists. Three invited
talks and 34 contributed talks were given at the meeting, and we got 22
submissions to these open post-proceedings, out of which 13 papers were
accepted. In this volume one can find papers on the following topics:
analysis of the classical principles in intuitionistic calculi, type
isomorphisms for intersection types, monads and their semantics in
functional programming languages, realizability, extensions of type
theory, extensions of linear logic, models of type theory, control
operators in type systems, formal verification of programs, program
extraction, compiler formalization and modelling of natural language
features. All papers obtained at least two reviews, and up to six
reviews, counting a second round of review.

CALL FOR PAPERS
Technology has gone through tremendous changes in terms of computing, communications and control to provide wide range of applications in all domains. This advancement provides the opportunities to bridge the physical components/processes and the cyber space leading to the Cyber Physical Systems (CPS). The notion of CPS is to use computing (sensing, analyzing, predicting, understanding, etc.), communication (interaction, intervene, interface management, etc.) and control (inter-operate, evolve, evidence-based certification, etc.) to make intelligent and autonomous systems. Such systems are playing an increasingly prevalent and important role in this electronic era such as healthcare, manufacturing, civil infrastructure, aerospace, entertainment, transportation and many automated physical systems. Computing and networking are two major components of CPS and Cloud has infinite resources for both. Cloud-integrated CPS will not only enhance CPS itself but also process, analyze a!
nd manage (CPS) big data efficientl
y. However, there are many issues and hurdles of Cloud-integrated CPS that need discussions.
Our aim is to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to present their research results in the area of Cloud-integrated Cyber-Physical Systems (Cloud-CPS). The proposed workshop Cloud-CPS 2014 will serve as a forum for researchers from academia, government and industries to exchange ideas, present new results and provide future visions on these topics. Topics of interest include but not limited to:
- Cloud-CPS Architecture.
- Cloud-CPS Modeling and Simulation.
- Virtualization of Physical Components in Cloud-CPS.
- Design and Performance Optimization in Cloud-CPS.
- Cloud-assisted Situation-aware and decision support.

2nd International Conference on Networked Systems
http://www.netsys2015.com
Cottbus, Germany, March 9-13, 2015
========================================================================
The Conference on Networked Systems (NetSys 2015) provides an
international forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry,
and government to discuss recent innovations in the realm of networked
systems ? including aspects of networking, distributed systems,
communications, middleware, and applications. NetSys is a biennial
conference that originates from the major scientific event on networked
systems in German-speaking countries KiVS (Kommunikation in Verteilten
Systemen) ? a series of conferences that was initiated 35 years ago. In
2013, NetSys was first organized on international scale in Stuttgart.
NetSys is organized by the special interest group ?Communication and
Distributed Systems? (KUVS), which is anchored both in the German
Computer Science society (Gesellschaft f?r Informatik (GI)) and in the
Information Technology society (Informationstechnische Gesellschaft im
VDE (ITG)). The conference proceedings will be submitted to IEEE
Xplore (R).
NetSys solicits submission of high-quality, original scientific papers
presenting novel research on the wide range of networked systems,
including but not limited to:
* Network architectures and protocols
* Transport- and application-layer protocols
* Emerging networked applications
* Peer-to-peer and overlay networks
* Software-defined networking
* SOA, Web services, and mobile services
* Cloud computing
* Virtualization in networked systems
* Social networks
* Internet of Things
* Cyber-physical systems
* Smart grid
* Cyber security and privacy
* Mobile, ad-hoc, opportunistic, vehicular and sensor networks
* Middleware architectures and platforms for networked systems
