The Optimisation and Logistics group at the
School of Computer Science,
The University of Adelaide, Australia
has an open position for postdoctoral researcher working
within the ARC Discovery Project
"Parameterised analysis of bio-inspired computing - from theory to high performing algorithms?.
This is a fixed term position for 18 months (with possible extension depending on funding) and starting date in 2014 is negotiable.
Starting salary is 75,111 AUD per annum (plus superannuation).
We are seeking an excellent candidate with a PhD in
mathematics, theoretical computer science or a related field.
The successful applicant should carry out theoretical work on
evolutionary algorithms, ant colony optimisation, and related bio-inspired computing methods.
Candidates having experiences in the field of randomised methods, parameterised algorithmics, statistics and/or
computational complexity of bio-inspired computation are highly encouraged to apply.
Currently, around 15 researchers
from several nationalities work in the Optimisation and Logistics group.
The group collaborates with several of the major research
institutions in Europe and the U.S. and has high international visibility.
