2 PhD Positions in Algorithmic Graph Theory at TU Ilmenau

The research group Discrete Mathematics at TU Ilmenau is offering two
PhD positions (2/3 TV-L E13 each) in Algorithmic Graph Theory. The PhD
students will both join the project "Theory and Algorithms for Graph
Connectivity" of Jens Schmidt, located at the Institute of Mathematics
in Ilmenau, Germany. Each position has a flexible start date in 2015, a
gross salary of about 30,000Euro/year (depending on the applicant's
qualification), social security, travel money, no tuition fees, half the
teaching load of a E13 position and a funding for at least three years.

The research focus will be on algorithms and structures for connectivity
problems in graphs. This will be at the intersection of theoretical
computer science and discrete mathematics. Candidates should therefore
have an excellent background in structural graph theory and/or efficient
algorithms. Solid English mathematical writing skills and teaching
experience are desirable.

Applicants should send their application until April 10th by email to
the following adress as a single pdf file containing
- curriculum vitae
- copies of diplomas
- summary of thesis (max. 1 page)
- names and contact details of one or two referees (including thesis
advisor)
